It is the participant’s responsibility to ensure that the mountain bicycle used, during the training course, is suitable, appropriate and safe for riding and that the rider has suitable clothing for adverse weather conditions.
Participants must be aged 16 or over. For participants under 18, the application form must be completed by a parent/guardian and signed by them. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an appropriate adult, over 18 years old.
Participants should be aware that cycling, both on and off road, is a potentially dangerous activity, and that they undertake the training course at their own risk. Helmets MUST be worn at all times when riding.
The company shall not be responsible for participants’ actions or for injury, damage to property or other loss due to an inadequately serviced or maintained cycle or other personal equipment or any other matter beyond their control. We regret that participants under the age of 18 years who are not accompanied by a parent or guardian cannot be accepted.
Participants are not to leave rubbish anywhere at the venue.
Before making a firm booking for the training course, intending participants MUST make certain it is appropriate to their physical abilities. In addition, pre-existing medical or mental conditions or learning or physical disabilities, whether or not these are controlled by medication or are currently dormant, must be declared before booking. The company shall not be responsible if any participant is unfit for the training course. Any participant suffering from diabetes or any other condition requiring medication shall ensure that the instructor is aware of this. It remains the responsibility of each participant to disclose the existence of such a medical condition. The company will not be held responsible for any failure to do so.
You agree to indemnify FTR, its’ agents, landowner and any person connected with this training event from any liability whatsoever resulting in personal injury (whether fatal or otherwise), loss, damage or expense caused and the chosen venue is not liable for any damage, injury, loss or otherwise incurred elements as a result of, or in connection with, the principle, operation or running of venue facilities, guided tour or course applied for which the client has applied.
FTR reserve the right to remove a participant(s) from the course or ride: those who ride or act in a way considered dangerous to yourself or others or those who have disregard for the local area, the public, the venue or the instructor. In the unlikely event of this occurrence refunds or any other financial return will be forfeit.
Cancellations by Participant:
In the event you wish to cancel your training, the following refunds apply;
- More than 30 days prior to course date: Full course fee, minus booking fee of £6.50, will be refunded or a free transfer to another course date can be arranged, where possible.
- Between 30 and 14 days, prior to course date: 50% of the course fee will be refunded.
- Less than 14 days prior to the course or no-show: no refund.
Cancellations by FTR:
FTR reserves the right to cancel or postpone a training event if there are adverse weather conditions, deemed to be unsuitable for ride safety or MOD/FC cancels permission to use the venue or less than 2 participants are booked on to the course.
In the event of these occurrences then a full or partial refund or transfer of the course will be made. Adverse weather conditions can cause a rapid deterioration in equipment, such as brakes, thus compromising rider safety and/or a deterioration in light conditions may render it unsafe to commence or continue the course. In this case cancellation may occur at very short notice or, indeed even if the training has commenced.
FTR is insured for public liability up to £5 million and all our trainers have individual insurance cover. All our trainers have also been cleared by the Disclosure and Barring Service and hold a current certificate.
When registering for an event you are agreeing to FTR’s Terms and Conditions.
